PERFACOLOR PM
PERFACOLOR PM
PERFACOLOR PM is a strongly cationic migrating and levelling agent for wool and polyamide particularly on pre-metallised dyestuffs.
PERFACOLOR PM does not contain banned substances listed by GOTS/ZDHC, Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and Bluesign.
Perfacolor PM is available in 200kg and 25kg drums and 1000kg IBC’s.
Application
The following application levels should be sufficient. Care should be taken not to use too much product as yield could be adversely affected.
Dyeing:
Light shades | 1.5% O.W.F. |
Medium shades | 1.0% |
Dark shades | 0.5% |
When utilizing highly efficient equipment such as packaged dyeing machinery, the application levels may be reduced by up to 30%. When making additions it is advisable to pre-mix the dyestuff with the Perfacolor PM at the correct temperature, which can be from 750C-1000C, depending on the machine and the dyestuffs in use.
To aid penetration it may be necessary to add a wetting agent, such as Perfascour GDE, prior to adding acetic acid and Perfacolor PM.
Repairing unlevel dyeing:
The application of 2-3% Perfacolor PM should give a good strip, but if this is not sufficient, the addition of 2% ammonia will ensure a complete strip.
In grossly unlevel dyeings, more than one treatment with Perfacolor PM and ammonia may be necessary before re-dyeing.
When using Perfacolor PM as a stripping agent, the bath should be dropped whilst still alkaline, and the material rinsed and neutralized before re-dyeing.
Benefits
- Levelling: When applied to pre-metallised dyestuffs on wool and polyamide, Perfacolor PM will restrain dye take-up thus encouraging level dyeing.
- Migration: Strong migrating and penetrating powers will ensure even, well-penetrated dyeings.
- Versatility: May also be used with acid milling dyes on wool and polyamide.
- Correction: Can be utilized for correction and stripping of faulty dyeings.
- Wash Off Will effectively wash off acid-printed polyamide fabrics.
