SARSOL SYSTEMS CLEANER FF

MW0226

SARSOL SYSTEMS CLEANER FF is a highly effective formaldehyde-free biocidal and detergent additive, multi-metal compatible and low foaming. The product formulation contains a unique combination of formaldehyde free biocides, fungicides and surfactants to ensure the machine sump is cleaned effectively. Designed to help control the growth of bacteria, moulds, fungi and algae often found in engineering coolant systems, and help prolong the life of coolant emulsions in use.

Application

As a complete system cleaner

A standard dose of approximately 2 – 3% by volume should be added to the coolant system and allowed to circulate for 12 to 24 hours (or overnight). Drain the system completely and flush out with clean water. Drain again and refill with fresh coolant emulsion to the recommended dilution/strength.

4-5% – Heavy tramp oil contamination and / or bacterial/ fungal growth.

2-3% – Typical treat rate for standard sump cleanout.

1-2% – Sump freshening. Used as a sump side additive to control odours or mild bacterial growth.

As a coolant stabilizer

A dose of 0.5% – 2.0% can be added to existing coolant to assist the ongoing control of bacterial or fungal contamination, and to help raise the pH level of the coolant for prolonged coolant life. Close monitoring of the pH level is strongly recommended, and it should be kept below the maximum of pH10 to maintain operator acceptability.

Benefits

  • Formulated with formaldehyde free biocide and fungicide components to sterilise the coolant system.
  • Helps to break down slimy deposits as well as any hard-water soaps which may accumulate.
  • Periodic use as a stabilizer will enhance the coolant life.
  • Includes an additive package to emulsify separated coolant and tramp oil.
  • The addition of corrosion inhibitors offers additional component protection.

Fluid Maintenance

To check and maintain fluid concentration a refractometer is recommended, the resulting reading multiplied by the refractometer conversion factor will give the actual concentration strength. Maintaining a consistent concentration is paramount to prolonging the fluid sump life. To promote long service life, it is strongly advised that coolant systems are thoroughly sterilised with a System Cleaner prior to coolant changes (see Sarsol System Cleaner Technical Data Sheet for further information and guidelines).

Further tests for bacteria, fungus, pH and tramp oil contamination are available through our Cooltrak Fluid Management Service. This service offers guidance and assistance for users to comply with current HSE legislative requirements. Please contact us for further details.
