SARSOL COOLANT CONDITIONER
SARSOL COOLANT CONDITIONER
SARSOL COOLANT CONDITIONER is a highly effective additive, designed to improve the overall condition of water-mix cutting fluids. Formulated to control the growth of bacteria, moulds, fungi and algae often found in engineering coolant systems, improve emulsion biostability and help prolong the life of coolant emulsions in use.
Application
Note: Not intended for use as a stand-alone product, but for dilution into existing coolant emulsion sumps.
For systems where long-standing bacterial/fungal infections are present, or the coolant is in a particularly poor condition, we recommend the use of SARSOL SYSTEMS CLEANER FF for a thorough system clean-up.
Benefits
- Broad spectrum, low level biocidal activity for improved emulsion stability.
- Enhanced levels of both ferrous and non-ferrous corrosion inhibition.
- Regular use will help extend coolant sump life.
- Designed to boost low-foaming tendency in hard water environments.
- Triazine and phenol free formulation.
Performance Profile
A dose of approximately 0.2% by volume for moderately contaminated systems, up to 2% by volume for systems in a poor condition, is recommended to control bacterial growth, improve emulsion stability and generally prolong coolant life.
Typical Properties
Appearance (concentrate) | Off-white liquid |
Specific Gravity @15°C | 1.2 |
pH (5% dilution) | 9.8 |
IP 287 Corrosion Break Point (% volume) | 0.5 |
Fluid Maintenance
To check and maintain fluid concentration a refractometer is recommended, the resulting reading multiplied by the refractometer conversion factor will give the actual concentration strength. Maintaining a consistent concentration is paramount to prolonging the fluid sump life. To promote long service life, it is strongly advised that coolant systems are thoroughly sterilised with a System Cleaner prior to coolant changes (see Sarsol System Cleaner Technical Data Sheet for further information and guidelines).
Further tests for bacteria, fungus, pH and tramp oil contamination are available through our Cooltrak Fluid Management Service. This service offers guidance and assistance for users to comply with current HSE legislative requirements. Please contact us for further details.
