Application

Applications — wide range of machining and grinding operations

Metals — cast iron as well as a wide range of mixed metals including aluminium alloys, stainless steels and titanium alloys

Notes — running at or above 7% offers the best sump life and corrosion inhibition on cast iron chips

— in mixed-metal situations, concentration control, over 7%, is critical to fight galvanic corrosion

Benefits

  • Boron and formaldehyde-releaser free.
  • Low foaming in modern high pressure, high-volume applications.
  • Excellent compatibility and lubrication for machining sensitive high silica aluminium alloys.
  • Proven performer in titanium milling applications.
  • Performs well where traditional soluble oils may not cool sufficiently.
  • Provides superior corrosion inhibition on all ferrous metals.
  • Uses standard metalworking recycling and disposal techniques.

Fluid Maintenance

To check and maintain fluid concentration a refractometer is recommended, the resulting reading multiplied by the refractometer conversion factor will give the actual concentration strength. Maintaining a consistent concentration is paramount to prolonging the fluid sump life. To promote long service life, it is strongly advised that coolant systems are thoroughly sterilised with a System Cleaner prior to coolant changes (see Sarsol System Cleaner Technical Data Sheet for further information and guidelines).

Further tests for bacteria, fungus, pH and tramp oil contamination are available through our Cooltrak Fluid Management Service. This service offers guidance and assistance for users to comply with current HSE legislative requirements. Please contact us for further details.
