WIRE ROPE GREASE 00
WIRE ROPE GREASE 00
WIRE ROPE GREASE 00 is a semi-fluid grease for wire rope and chain lubrication. Designed to meet the extreme lubrication and corrosion prevention requirements of wire ropes and chains working under extreme conditions – typical application areas are dockside and ship crane ropes, drag lines, hoists and mobile cranes. Formulated to penetrate between the rope strands and chain links to provide integral lubrication and provide both internal and external protection against corrosion caused by moisture and the effects of most adverse weather conditions, including sea water.
Application
Apply sparingly – 1kg is sufficient to lubricate 40 to 50m of 25mm diameter rope. When the rope and the chains are in use, the capillary action of the lubricant ensures full penetration to the core of the rope and chain links. Use straight from the container, even in cold weather. For best results, Wire Rope Grease 00 should be applied to clean ropes and chains to ensure complete penetration. Should it not be possible to clean the ropes of previous lubricant, then apply Wire Rope Grease 00 on top of the previous lubricant to soften it, work the rope for one week, then make a further application.
Benefits
- High solid lubricant content reduces wear between the strands of the rope and chain links.
- Excellent internal and external protection, extending rope and chain service life.
- High degree of corrosion protection ensures long film life extending re-lubrication intervals.
- Extensive covering power, resulting in economic usage.
