As part of our introductions to the newly re-branded SAR, this week we sat down with our Global Export Manager, Pedro Lima! Pedro oversees the day-to-day international work at SAR and brings a vast amount of experience within the lubricants industry to his role.

WHAT IS YOUR NAME AND JOB TITLE?

Hello! I’m Pedro Lima and my role is Global Export Manager at SAR Lubricants.

WHAT DOES YOUR ROLE ENTAIL?

My role is about overseeing international business and developing relationships with distributors and developing a network internationally.

HOW MANY YEARS OF EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE OF WORKING IN THE SECTOR?

In lubricants specifically 10 years, in business 25 years.

WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE WORKING AT SAR LUBRICANTS?

In England I have always worked in the speciality finished lubricants and the automotive industry, with a focus on selling added value products.

WHAT RELEVANT INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE DO YOU BRING TO YOUR ROLE AT SAR?

My experience is international both with distributors in both lubricants and the automotive industries. I have vast experience in opening new businesses as well as focusing on organic growth. One of the key experiences that I bring to the table is my textile background, where I previously worked for a competitor.

DO YOU HAVE ANY QUALIFICATIONS, INDUSTRY-SPECIFIC OR OTHERWISE?

I have a sales management masters degree from the EADA Business School in Barcelona, a postgraduate PDU from Universitat Autonoma Barcelona and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Bradford which I finished in 2024.

WHAT IS YOUR PROUDEST ACHIEVEMENT (PERSONAL OR PROFESSIONAL) TO DATE?

I have always had an interest in manufacturing, languages and different cultures. So, I would say my proudest achievement is probably moving to England 13 years ago and starting a career here and doing what I’m doing now.

WHAT’S THE BEST PIECE OF BUSINESS ADVICE YOU’VE EVER BEEN GIVEN?

Treat every customer, no matter the size, in the same way.

IF YOU COULD ONLY EAT ONE FOOD FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Pizza! Without a doubt.

WHAT GETS YOU OUT OF BED IN THE MORNING, OTHER THAN YOUR ALARM CLOCK?

My family.

DO YOU HAVE ANY HOBBIES OR WOULD YOU LIKE TO SHARE A FUN FACT ABOUT YOURSELF?

I’m a keen runner and enjoy going to the gym. I also play the drums as part of a Samba band.
